First Day

It's Memorial Day, 2011 and this is my first post. My intention is to spend a little time when I am at home and share with you the events of my days.


Perhaps this will be the place that we can share some of the many letters and emails that come in. Only a small percentage can be included in Der Bay's letters to the editor column, Oystsugn fun briv in der redaktsie.

As a visually impaired person, the fancy name for legally blind, my time is spent half in the Yiddish world, with the website, newsletter, IAYC and Wednesday night Yiddish class and the other half with the blind community--its website and as president of the San Mateo County Council of the Blind.

So you will read about both of these worlds, and I hope you will share your interests with me both of your interest in Yiddish and your many other activities. Mama will speak to us from time to time.
